Cost of Renting a Campervan in Croatia – Full Breakdown

Planning a campervan trip through Croatia and wondering how much you should budget for the rental itself?

Depending on the season and the type of vehicle you choose, you can rent a campervan in Croatia for anywhere between €88 and €183 per day.

The biggest factors that affect the price are the time of year, the size of the campervan, and the insurance package you choose. Everything else, from camping furniture and kitchen equipment to bedding and roadside assistance, is usually already included!

Below, we’ve broken down our real rental prices, explained what’s included, and shown a realistic example of what a campervan holiday in Croatia might cost.

  • High season (1–30 Jun, 1–30 Sep): €110/day

If you’re looking for the most affordable way to experience campervan travel in Croatia, Piafy is an excellent choice!

Bruce: from €98 per day

Bruce is our custom-built VW Transporter T6, named after the legendary Bruce Springsteen – because every great road trip deserves an equally great soundtrack. With the same practical layout as Piafy but a newer base vehicle and a rooftop ventilation, Bruce is perfect for couples looking for a little extra comfort without giving up the freedom of a compact camper.

Rental prices:

  • Low season: €98/day
  • Middle season: €105/day
  • High season: €120/day
  • Top season: €133/day

Queen: from €148 per day

Queen campervan interior

Queen is named after the legendary British rock band, and just like its namesake, it stands out with character, comfort, and a touch of style. If you love having a little more space to relax after a day on the road, this campervan is an excellent choice. Built on a reliable Citroën Jumper platform, it comfortably sleeps up to four people and comes with everything you need for a carefree adventure, including a fully equipped kitchen, a private bathroom with shower and toilet, and plenty of storage for longer trips.

Rental prices:

  • Low season: €148/day
  • Middle season: €155/day
  • High season: €270/day
  • Top season: €183/day

If you’re planning a longer itinerary or simply enjoy travelling in comfort, the slightly higher daily rate is easy to justify thanks to the extra living space and premium equipment.

As a general rule, couples can expect to spend between €90 and €130 per day for a compact campervan, while larger motorhomes typically range between €150 and €183 per day, depending on the season.

What affects the rental price of a campervan?

Piafy campervan

Although campervan rental prices vary throughout the year, the pricing is surprisingly straightforward.

The season has the biggest impact. July and August are Croatia’s busiest travel months, so prices are naturally highest during this period. If your schedule allows, travelling in May, June, September, or October can reduce your rental cost by €15–30 per day while still offering warm weather, fewer crowds, and excellent road-trip conditions.

The type of campervan also matters. Compact campervans like Piafy and Bruce are perfect for couples and cost considerably less than larger motorhomes. If you need extra beds, a larger living area, or more storage, a full-size motorhome like Queen naturally comes at a higher daily rate.

Finally, your insurance package influences the overall cost. While basic insurance is already included, many travellers choose additional coverage for extra peace of mind.

What’s included in the rental price?

One of the biggest advantages of renting with YourWay is that you don’t need to worry about paying separately for the essentials.

Every campervan comes fully equipped with everything you need for everyday camping, including kitchen equipment, pots and pans, cutlery, glasses, a coffee press, camping table and chairs, fresh bed linen, a cleaning kit, cooking essentials, and 24/7 roadside assistance.

Travel with a campervan through Croatia

Before every rental, the campervan is professionally prepared with a full interior and exterior clean, a full fresh water tank, gas, fresh bedding, and a detailed handover so you’re comfortable using every feature before setting off.

That means you can arrive with your luggage, pick up the keys, and start your road trip without needing to shop for camping equipment first.

Choosing the right insurance

Every rental includes Basic Insurance, which covers third-party liability, unlimited kilometres, roadside assistance, and one registered driver. The refundable security deposit is €1,000.

Travellers who want additional protection can upgrade to Extended Insurance for €19 per day. This reduces the security deposit to €800, allows a second driver, and lowers your maximum financial liability if damage occurs.

Our most popular option is Stress Free Insurance, available for €25 per day. It reduces the deposit to €400 and also covers some of the most common issues encountered during road trips, including tyre punctures and one damaged window.

*No insurance package covers damage caused by gross negligence, driving off paved roads, putting petrol into a diesel engine, getting stuck in sand or mud, water damage from flooded roads, or damage to the camper’s interior and optional equipment.

For most couples planning a week or more on the road, Stress Free Insurance offers the best balance between cost and peace of mind.

Optional extras

Every traveller has a different idea of the perfect road trip, so we offer a selection of optional extras that can be added to your booking!

Popular additions include kayaks, bike racks, car seats, hammocks, tents, BBQ equipment, snorkelling gear, trekking poles, and camping accessories. If you’re planning to drive into neighbouring countries such as Slovenia or Bosnia and Herzegovina, you can also add border-crossing permission during booking.

Example: What does a two-week campervan rental cost?

Here’s an example for two people travelling for 14 nights during the high season:

    • Bruce campervan: 14 days × €120 = €1,680
    • Stress Free Insurance: 14 days × €25 = €350
    • and for example, a BBQ rental for 14 days: €26

That brings the total rental cost to around €2,000 excluding fuel, campsites, tolls, and food.

Choosing Piafy instead would reduce the rental price by approximately €140 over the same two-week trip, making it a great option for travellers who don’t need the additional features of Bruce.

Is renting a campervan in Croatia worth it?

Campervan sunset in Croatia

Absolutely! Unlike staying in hotels, a campervan combines your accommodation and transport into one experience while giving you the freedom to change plans along the way. Instead of packing and unpacking every few days, you can wake up by the sea one morning, spend the afternoon in a national park, and finish the day in a quiet campsite surrounded by nature.

If you’re travelling as a couple, budgeting around €100–130 per day for the campervan itself is realistic for most of the year. Families travelling in a larger motorhome should expect around €150–183 per day, depending on the season.

Booking outside the July and August peak remains the easiest way to save money while enjoying a more relaxed travel experience.
